How fees work
Plain answers to what nearly everyone asks before a first session, in the order they come up.
Insurance we work with
We bill many commercial plans, so you pay your plan's copay or deductible. Not every clinician is on every plan, so we match you with one who is. We do not bill Medicare or Medicaid; if you need a clinician who does, we will gladly give you the names of colleagues.
Most PPO plans
Some employee assistance programs
No Medicare or Medicaid
If you pay yourself
If you do not use insurance, you pay at the end of each session by card, including HSA and FSA cards. Your fee is set by the length of the session: 60 minutes for the first session, 50 for an individual session, 80 for a couple and 90 for a group. An evening or weekend hour costs the same as any other, and we give you the fee in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are open; ask how to request one. We ask for 24 hours' notice to change an appointment.
Receipts for reimbursement
Each month we give you an itemized receipt (a superbill) with the dates and kind of session, to send to your plan, which may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see. Your plan decides whether it pays anything; ask it before you start.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what your care will cost before you start. We give you one before the first session. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Your rights, at cms.gov/nosurprisesChecking your benefits
Before your first session we check your benefits and call you with what your plan lists for a copay and a deductible. That check is not a promise of payment: your plan makes the final decision.
What the first visit includes
Your first session is 60 minutes, on the evening or weekend hour you chose. Your clinician explains how they work, the limits of confidentiality and the possible risks and benefits of therapy, and listens. At the end you both decide whether to continue.

Getting started
Your first steps, by how you pay
With insurance
Call us with your plan's name and member number rather than writing it in a message. We check your benefits and phone you before the first session.
Without insurance
We send you a written good faith estimate, and then you choose an hour. You pay by card at the end of each session.
Through an employee assistance program
Some employers cover a few sessions. Contact your program first, then tell us you are coming through it, and we match you with a clinician it lists.
